Description
Experience the Faroe Islands from a perspective few visitors ever get to see.
Join us on a guided sea kayaking adventure to Fossá, one of the Faroe Islands’ most spectacular waterfalls. This 2–3 hour tour combines breathtaking scenery, peaceful paddling, and a close encounter with one of the islands’ most iconic natural landmarks.
Starting from the small marina at Ljósáir, we paddle north along the dramatic coastline of Eysturoy. Surrounded by towering mountains, rugged cliffs, and the fresh North Atlantic air, you’ll discover the Faroe Islands in a truly unique way. Along the route, keep an eye out for seabirds and other wildlife that thrive along these pristine shores.
As we continue through the narrow sound between Eysturoy and Streymoy, Fossá comes into view across the water. After passing the waterfall, we cross the sound and paddle closer to the Streymoy shoreline, where the waterfall cascades down the mountainside in two impressive tiers before reaching the valley below.
Weather and sea conditions permitting, we may land near Fossá and take a short walk to enjoy an even closer view of the waterfall. Standing beneath the towering cliffs with the sound of rushing water all around is an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of the tour.
Whether you are visiting the Faroe Islands for adventure, photography, wildlife, or simply to experience nature at its most dramatic, this tour offers a memorable journey through one of the islands’ most beautiful coastal landscapes.
